Mark Allison has been working to end homelessness for twenty years. He provides technical assistance to communities receiving HUD funding to address homelessness. Prior to joining the Center for Social Innovation, Mark was Executive Director of the Supportive Housing Coalition of New Mexico, where he pioneered the evidence-based best practices of permanent supportive housing and Housing First in NM. During his tenure, Mark increased the agency’s housing portfolio from 14 units to 650 and assets from $250,000 to $50 million. His leadership was recognized for creating innovative housing that combined mixed income populations, cutting edge sustainable “green” features, and award winning design. Prior to that, Mark managed a multi-service drop in center and seasonal overnight emergency shelter that served an average of 425 persons daily. Mark is currently VP of the Board of Directors of the DC-based National Low Income Housing Coalition. Mark holds a B.S. and M.S. in Political Science from Illinois State University.
